This policy explains what personal data TemplateIt collects on templateit.net, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. TemplateIt operates from India and handles personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights the GDPR gives you, listed below.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into our forms, plus the basic records every web server keeps.
- Template downloads: your name, your work email and the template you asked for.
- Quote and contact forms: your name and email, and anything else you choose to give: company, platform, template, budget range and your message.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Server records: when you load a page, the server records your IP address, browser and the page you asked for. We use these for security and to fix errors. To stop spam, we also keep a scrambled form of your IP address for 10 minutes after you submit a form.
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not buy data about you.
Why we use it
- To email you the download link and files you asked for, and to follow up once about help setting the template up.
- To answer your message or prepare the quote you asked for.
- To send release notes if you subscribed.
- To keep the site secure and working.
We use your data because you gave it to us for that purpose when you submitted the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and we will stop. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Who else handles it
- OVHcloud hosts the website. Form submissions are stored on our server there.
- Our email provider carries the emails we send you.
- YouTube (Google) serves the template videos. They are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube receives data only when you press play, under Google’s own privacy policy.
These providers only process data for us. Some of them may process it outside India. We share personal data with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Download requests and form messages: up to 24 months after your last contact with us, then we delete them.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Server records: for a short period for security, then they are deleted.
- If you become a customer, we keep invoices and project records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it
- correct, complete or update it
- delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it
- stop using it for something you agreed to, such as the newsletter
- name someone to act on your behalf if you die or are unable to act
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also object to processing, ask us to restrict it, ask for a copy in a portable format, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Email privacy@templateit.net with your request. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from the email address it is about.
Grievance officer
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, write to our Grievance Officer at privacy@templateit.net with “Grievance” in the subject line. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
The site is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, the server only accepts key-based access, and form data stays on our own server rather than in marketing tools. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
When what we do with personal data changes, we update this page and the date below.
